WARD CAMP!

The past few days we have been camping with our ward. it was seriously such a blast. We love BYU 6th ward. They have made us feel so at home and welcomed.

Some highlights from camp:

-camping at Hukilau beach( its right down the road, but hey its camping right? all that means is that our shower was acessable lol)
-sleeping in a tent
-football/volleyball games (poly girls are hard core and will knock you DOWN) lol..I learned i am very white.
-shaving coconuts, and grating it, and then squeezing the grated stuff to make the milk.
-making our own island plates from coconut leaves and actually eating off of it.
-lots of laughs and games
-just being outside and relaxing the past 2 days
-watching Live free or die hard, and Salt as our ward activity. haha( for all you mainlanders..you should get some aloha spirit!its great)
-being tent neighbors with the Brunners
-getting to know people in our ward and really coming together like family
-holding babies.and having them fall asleep in my arms.(I WANT ONE DANG IT)
-seeing polynesians dance the robot...soo entertaining.
-lots of feasting on great food
-snuggling up to my husband at night when the weather cooled
-stealing cookies that actually ended up being for a prize( Huston....????)
-just really enjoyed the company of everyone. We seriously LOVED EVERY SECOND!
-trying coco rice( not our favorite thing in the world, but not terrible)

a little bit of site seeing...

-Kapena Falls (small waterfall/cliff jumping right off the side of the pali. Beautiful little place to enjoy a picnic and play in some water.)

-Diamond Head (lets just say its not our favorite Hawaiiain hike but it sure was pretty once you got the top. it is a tourist attraction we had not experienced yet so we decided why not?)

when you were five....?

So back when you were like 5 did you used to pay for everything with change that would find? when you were learning the value of money?..haha anyways.. i used to camp next to my piggy bank just to make sure i had enough when that ice cream man drove through our neighborhood. ..haha.. Tonight being a little homesick and emotional(sometimes thats ok at our house because we live far away)... Huston and i decided to get out of the house and go for a bike ride down to 7/11 and ... well... we picked out some drinks and our favorite treat(well only i got a treat, its called a sweet tooth).. and we payed in change. haha. The lady at the desk had such a good attitude about it and was actually excited we payed her a whole $4.22 in change. nickels and dimes mostly. haha. It was a fun adventure! I love spending time with my husband. We sat at the beach for about ten min and then biked home. :)

TIE DYE FEST!

Yep.. So.. Friday night we had so much fun tie dying shirts(yep thank you amanda and stephanies blogs for the idea) No one in the crew had done it before, so Huston and Chris you tubed the critical facts...and it got serious. haha. We enjoyed out adventures .. mostly the boys.. as Melissa and i just laughed at them. Anyways.. after all the shirts were tied, we were off to dye them. We picked all our own colors..and Everyones shirt was unique in its own way. Now the question is.. WILL THEY TURN OUT??.. we had to wait a few days to let the dye set in. So our date night soon turned into FHE! We untied our shirts, washed them and took pictures and played games. They all turned out SO cool. Seriously.i am such a little kid and i was so excited to see the shirts..and to see they actually turned out and we can actually wear them.WOOT WOOT.. will be doing this task again. :)

Girls Night. :)

So.. no joke.. probably my first friends in Hawaii were Jack and Taylor! It was my first little job. I watched them every morning for about 3 months. until i ended up finding a job and thier dad could watch them. Anyways.. we still babysit them on occasion.THey are seriously the best kids. Well behaved and so cute/fun..The kind that make you want to have 10 kids one day..anyways.. This particular time.. Jack was already asleep... and Huston was at work. So Taylor and i got to have a girls night. We played with the Easy bake Oven(it finally got some good use) made some sugar cookies, and frosted them. They were yummy...and we had so much fun. Taylor was funny and so helpful. The girl is smart. i could probably let her do it on her own. Anyways.. We had a good time! :) Thanks for being one of my first friends in Hawaii Taylor!
