Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Dad! We sure do love you alot!

I am my daddy's little girl, we have always been close. He is a very understanding and loving person and can always make me laugh!! I love my dad and am grateful for him and his desicion to join the church when he was 18 years old. He has since gone on a mission, married in the temple, and raised his 4 kids in the gospel, and used his story as a teaching tool for others. Thank you Dad for all that you do for us. Sure do miss you. Hopefully you will be getting on a plane soon to come see us.

new favorite

My new favorite flavor of ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip. It used to never be my first choice, however recently we have gotten it the last two times and I have found that I actually REALLY like it. Plus its green, so it makes me feel better about myself for eating it. Hows that for justification???

The Arbinger Institute

Arbinger is a worldwide institute that helps organizations, families, individuals, and communities solve the problems created by self-deception.

They at Arbinger share a deep understanding and passion for our compelling model of human understanding. It offers people a common language for openly and clearly discussing - and settling - their differences. And it works across cultures, races, classes, religions and beliefs.

***On Saturday we had the oppurtunity to attend a workshop for this institute and I believe it will be life changing. The workshop we attended was called "THE CHOICE" and it is AMAZING. I was not sure what to expect as I only signed up to do it for my friend who had to teach it to get certified, but I was not prepared at all for what I was about to learn. Really cool stuff. Life changing, heart strings tugging kind of stuff. Needless to say, I have alot to change about myself, and I think we both learned alot about how to better communicate in our marraige by being non-resistant.

I will sum up a little bit of what I learned.. but if you ever have the oppurtunity to attend ARBINGER ever in your life, DO IT!

1. There are two Ways of Being- The responsive way where we see others as people, and the resistant way where we see others as obejects
2. Way of being is deeper and more important than behavior
3. When we betray ouselves, we enter the resistant way of being
4. In the resistant way of being, we see others and ourselves in ways that justify our own self-betrayals.
5. Over a lifetime of self-betrayal, we develop characteristic self-justifying ways of seeing ourselves and the world; we carry our "boxes" with us.
6. In the box, we provoke others to get in the box as well, and the mistreatment we then get from others gives us justification for staying in the box.
7. We get out of the box not by focusing on ourselves, but by responding to others- that is, by recieving the humanity of those we have been resisting. We cease resisting them.
8. Responsive relationships and memories give us leverage to get out of the box in other areas of our lives
9. Once out of the box, we stay out of the box by doing for others what we feel we should do.

Basically in this workshop, we learned about the two different "Ways of being" -discussed our "sense's and our desires" and then SELF BETRAYAL. Once you have betrayed your original sense, you are then in Self betrayal which is the ultimate state of justification and you begin to see people as ojects.

For example- If i had a "sense" to take a friend dinner because i felt they needed it, and i didnt... I would begin the self betrayal process by justifying my action..and putting myself above "said" friend. For instance, well im just too busy, i dont have time to make them dinner. or..They really dont need it that bad, and we cant afford to feed four people tonight. - When you enter the stage of self-betrayal you are seeing people in the resistant way-and thinking of them as only "objects" and not as people.

Did i spark your interest yet??

Anyway.. As the workshop went on, we learned that by being in "self betrayal" we put ourselves in a box. and then we learn how to get ourselves out of the box. Ultimately the workshop taught me how to identify the problem, and solve it. In other words, identify my ignored "sense" and then get myself back to a place where i feel that "sense" again.

The 4 ways mentioned to getting out of the box were:
1. Realize your in the box
2. While in the box- find an out of the box place (start thinking of positives)
3. Ponder the situation anew (look at it from a different stand point)
and
4. Follow your sense- and do what you feel you should do for that person you are "in the box" with

The cool thing about this workshop is that it can be used in almost every situation of life. With work, school, home, family, marraige... etc. I will admit.. there are times I am "in the box" with Huston.

this blog post is getting long already, and I barely scratched the surface. After all it was a 4 1/2 hour workshop-but well worth our time. Im glad we were able to help a friend out, and actually learn some much needed material. Humbling experience!

Talk Story

I just realized that we met most of our good friends here.. in very unique ways.... well because my husband.. he is a very unique person. haha... lets just say im lucky that these people even stuck around to be our friends. We refer to each and every one of them as our Hawaiian Ohana!

Its funny how God brings people together. :)

Our first Sunday in our new ward... a good ol' guy named Wolfgang was giving the closing prayer in sacrament meeting. He had a very european accent and Huston of course was so excited because thats where he had served his mission. Therefore, after church he made it a point to go up to this guy and try to say something in German. I remember being embarassed because we were brand new in the ward and knew NOBODY. but..Sure enough.. Wolfgang understood and could respond because he is from Austria, where Huston actually served almost half of his mission. Small world. Needless to say.. Wolfgang and Jamie were our first real friends in TVA and we loved picking on them in Sunday school, watching "The Hangover"with them, going to China Town, and telling personal stories. The first time we had them over we stayed up really late talking about life and married things. I remember thinking they had an amazing relationship and I was always comparing ours to thiers because when your first married you are trying to figure those kinds of things out. Luckily they didnt think we were too weird, and stayed our friends! :) Sure miss seeing thier faces in Hawaii.

Then.. one day... the Mannings(another couple) were throwing a party, and had opted to inviting us because they felt bad for kindly declining a couple of dinner offers. So it was more of a pitty invite ( haha just kidding, ) but anywho.. We went to thier party, where only 1 other couple came, aside from us. 6 people is a good turnout right? Later the Brunner's(Wolfgang and Jamie) showed up as well, but still.. We were just meeting most of these people for the FIRST time. As we were playing this really fun sheraids game, boys v/s girls of course... the girls thought it would be funny to write on a piece of paper "Gang Bang" (not knowing the real meaning of the word, which is where a gang rapes a woman pretty much) because we wanted to see the boys act "gangster".. but much to our suprise...mostly just my suprise (because it was my husband who had to act it out) ...he took the words into a completely different context and was literally on the floor humping and making all kinds of gestures.

I went red in the face and was trying to figure out what in the world was going on. All the other girls were doing the same. We couldnt believe what he was doing because we didnt understand. Finally after the time was up, and nobody understanding what was going on. When Huston said was he was supposed to be acting out ... "Gang BANG" all the boys went "OHHHH" but all of us girls went "HUH...? How was that a gang bang?"

Put together a bunch of embarassed husbands who had to explain to thier wives what that really was and some vulgur gestures coming from your own husband.. you get a great party right???? ... its a very good thing we all laugh about it now, because the Mannings, and the Smith's who were both in attendance of this party, are now some of our very best friends. (keep in mind, literally this was the first time we had ever hung out with either couple) and we had to attend church the next day with the Mannings. Melissa tells us that she was nervous to see Huston the next day at church because she was not sure if he would feel comfortable around them... If you dont think this story is funny.. its ok.. but truly this was such a bold move for Huston. Nobody knew what to think about him after that.. haha!

Oh Huston, I think i speak for everybody when I say that we all love you. You always bring the entertainment.

And last but certainly not least we have our dear sweet old next door neighbors. I can remember when they first moved in we were not quite sure what to think, but we knew we wanted to have a good relationship with them because we love our community and it would just be nice to be friends with your neighbors. Once again... my awesome husband Huston can take credit for this one... but he used to listen for our neighbors to come up the stairs, and as soon as they were close enough he would screech out the window to scare them. I wont lie, its pretty fun to see Ben jump five feet in the air EVERY single time(this happened, YES multiple times). Having never really talked to this couple before, we decided it was enough torture scaring them, and they probably hated us by now, so we decided to make friends...Only to find out they had been plotting to scare us back the whole entire time. Rachel had been waiting ALL day long for us to close our door, and finally we did so they thought they would be sneaky and hang a spider from our door (close to halloween time) ...but we ended up hearing them so instead Huston listened for a few moments..and then opened the door screaming. This was the best scare of them all, because they both about peed thier pants.

and We have been friends with the Erb's ever since!! ....

When we mentioned to Ben that we were having a hard time getting to know our new neighbors... he said "well did you try scaring them,? That's what did it for us!"

We get a pretty good laugh from these stories. They are great memories. Thanks Huston for being such a good friend maker, because i have loved and enjoyed getting to know these crazy people who have decided to stay in our lives. :) .... well.. not really stay.. Most of them have moved on from the "Hawaii"  "Shoe box" stages of thier lives and are on to bigger and better things. ... We forgive them for leaving us.

Misfits..

I always have little thoughts.. not worth a million posts.. so ill fit them into one!

Hawaii.....
When i put make up on.. it comes right off. Why bother?
When i shower, 3 hours later it feels like i havent showered in weeks. Why bother?
a little breeze to get us through the next couple "Hot" months would be nice

"Shoe box"....
You are quaint and simple and we are grateful you put a roof over our head..but...
If only you had a dishwasher, washer/dryer, and if only a california king bed could actually fit into the bedroom
I like you because it takes me about 30 minutes to clean you. (vacuum, bathroom, and a few dishes?? not bad!) My chore list is definately shorter. I dont mind that.
But, you are small. and your walls are thin.
If only we didnt hear crying babies and snoring neighbors... literally.

"Future house"
We sure are enjoying talking about buying you someday.
Having something be OURS. It will be our first big investment after all, ok.. it would be the second if you count school as an investment.
How many bedrooms will you have? how long will it take me to clean you? Will you be in a good neighborhood? How long will we live in you?
I am excited to give Huston "home improvment" projects.
We want a California KING temperpedic bed. (only $3,000 or so) but worth it. You spend most of your life in bed right??
Also wouldnt mind having a few love sac's lying around

School...
CANT WAIT TO BE FINISHED

Baby....
Oh thats right... dont have one.

Puppy....
We will buy you someday, and I cant wait to laugh at all your wrinkes, but please be potty trained and dont chew on anything, otherwise you will get sent to live with your grandparents. They have a "farm"(sarcasm)and im sure you will love it. Lots of cousins to play with.

Stories....
I will document you eventually. I realize sometimes that as im telling stories to some people.. I have not yet documented them. Like for instance the unique stories as to how we met almost all of our best friends here, and the beginning stages of our marraige and when we were extremely poor. I was bad at documenting that because i didnt want anyone to worry about us, but looking bad, it was fun to struggle through that together.

Life....
Slow down please. I feel like the past two months have been a high speed chase. Im always trying to catch up with you, so slow down because im tired.

Goals....
We have come to a pretty good consensus lately. One of my goals was to keep in better touch with friends and family, and so far in the last two weeks i have talked to my two future to be sister in laws(Sam and Amanda) skyped with Ben and Rachel, talked to my mom and dad on the phone, skyped with family, spoke wtih Melissa (an old Hawaii friend) on the phone, caught up with my old roomie on FB, and texted a few HS friends and it feels great. I LOVE people. My heart is warm and filled with grattitude when i realize how blessed I am with people who have been set in my path.

Sleepover!!

My good friend Alysha's husband is gone for a few days, so she invited me to spend the night with her and one of her young women from church. We had a great evening visiting, eating way too much junk food, watching chick flicks and talking all night about how we wish we were innocent like Jenifer Garner in "13 going on 30." It was such a fun evening!

Somehow... Alysha and I ended up on the air matress and Makana(15 yrs old) got Nick and Alysha's bed all to herself. Not quite sure how that happened, but needless to say.. Alysha and I had pillow talk till about 2am before i passed out on her.

Love me some GIRL time. Sometimes its just what the doctor ordered. As much as I LOVE being married, I also really miss being young and having wild nights with my roomies. So it was great to enjoy a night away(across the way about 3-4 buildings) with my girl.

It was my first "real" sleepover since being married, and i quite enjoyed myself! :) Thanks Alysha for inviting me! Although I had fun, one night is enough. Sleeping next to the man of your dreams for the rest of your life has got to be the best feeling in the world, there is just something comforting about it.

Our Aloha Mom

Our next door neighbors ... mentioned in previous post.. well..thier(Ben's) Mom is in town, and well we sort of adopted her into our family, and she adopted us into hers. She used to come visit our neighbors all the time, and needless to say we really miss seeing her around now days.

Since we heard she was in town, we decided to have her over for dinner. She kindly drove down to Laie to spend Friday evening with us, and calls us her "adopted" children. We loved spending time with her. She is an amazing hard working woman. We spent most of the evening talking story, and boy does she have some cool stories to tell, and of course we discussed how much we missed Ben and Rachel. Huston even got to speak a little bit like a local kine with her...SHOOTZ!!

Perfect way to spend Friday evening.

this is my Jam

My very generous Zumba instructor was kind enough to pass on most of her fun upbeat ZUMBA music...Dont worry, I offered my babysitting services in exchange.  Im so excited. ... Zumba music..Dont mind if I do!

Dear Neighbors...
I am sorry in advance for playing/singing/dancing it loudly in my house, If you can have a baby that cries all the time at all hours of the day/night.. then i have the right to play loud music.
Love
Your kind neighbor who does not ever complain about your child

Note to the blog world:
Our neighbors used to be our best friends, well they still are..but they moved...to KANSAS.... we are a little bitter they are gone. In exchange we have a new born child on each side of us, and even next door to that. So if you are not a very imaginative mind..that means three houses down..IN A ROW..BABIES. Yep..babies! WTF? why didn't I get the memo that we were all having babies??? Don't get me started. I have finally come to terms with the fact that Heavenly Father does indeed not see me/us as the type of parents who are capable of having a child while in school. pssshhh... Easy Peasy right?? Maybe......NOT!

Anywho... I was not kidding about the singing and dancing part. Zumba music is the bomb.

On the flip side.. had a wonderful day, except that i woke up at 3:45am to pick some friends up at the airport and did not take a nap. Our housesitting job officially ended. my amazing phone i was bragging to you a few posts ago, hit the dust..does not charge anymore and I was a little grumpy.

Other than that, I was able to attend Zumba, always refreshing, speak with a good friend on the phone, attend the temple, ditch class, and relax. Pretty good day...just LONG.

-Thanks for stopping in to read today. Sorry if i bored you. Like i stated previously...my blog is becoming more of a journal. its for my own personal benefit.

Happy Birthday Mom

 Watch out!!!!

She is Old.. But we wont hold that against her. I love her to pieces, and I credit her for almost all that I am because of her great example. I catch myself more often than not, saying to myself "I am turning into my mother." Weird how that happens... But I don't mind it, its not a bad thing!

Thanks mom for everything. I wish i was home to celebrate with you. I hope you have an amazing birthday. I miss you sooo much!

my tongan sister

The lady i used to visit teach has turned into such a good friend of mine. We are now neighbors and she lives in the house right below us. She always makes me smile, and yesterday i was on my way to go work out, and i stopped to invite her, thinking maybe we could just go on a walk or something... but instead she invited me inside, told me to sit down, and we talked for 2 hours. So much for working out! Yet i truly enjoyed all of her stories, and her very honest and forward personality. She is so young at heart and refuses to believe she is getting old. We actually have a lot in common. She likes to make flowers for your hair, who knew?(you should see my bathroom) She was kind enough to give me a couple new hair flowers and a necklace/bracelet set because she did not like it. However, she said that when it was given to her she immediately thought, "Kilie would love this" and she was right. Haha. Our next get together will consist of learning to make curry, and we hope to find someone to teach us to play the piano, and to find a shift in the temple we are able to work together, and go for lots of walks.

I am grateful for the calling of being a visiting teacher and the friendship i have been able to develop with this woman because she is pretty shy and I know that if it were not for this chance to visit her each month i would not have gotten to know her.

Thank you, my beautiful and wonderful Tongan sister for being such a fun friend, you make Hawaii more like home.

Crafty

This was not my most favorite of projects. I am not patient enough.

What I did:

Letters:
Made letters by hand out of cardboard
wrapped them in desired color of yarn
embellished with flowers, buttons, ribbon.. whatever your little heart desires

Wreath:
I took my old spring wreath that i already had
cut off the scrapbook paper
wrapped in yarn
embellished

The part that took the most patience was for sure the yarn wrapping. Not my MO. If you pay too close attention you will notice how terrible it really looks. I did not really care because where it is hanging on my wall, it is far from the eye to really see! hehe...

All in all, I am happy with the turn out, and it felt good to have something fun to do the past couple of days. The colors match perfectly with our bedroom. Plus i just LOVEEEE yellow. The black just really makes it POP!

I know all of you are annoyed of hearing me say this.. but Pinterest has some pretty good tricks up their sleeves, and has some pretty great websites/ideas. Its great for my self esteem, and its fun to try new things in the kitchen and in our home.

Last night i made these beauties for breakfast this morning.

They turned out pretty good.

Thank you Pinterest.

Thought Catalog

One of those random posts....

1.  We have a few new members of the Farnsworth farmily.

two new tires tires on our car with a warranty covering nails and metal shards. Our poor donut has more miles on it than it should. Its about to blow, but its nice to finally be able to drive our little car again. We are both very attached to it, it has been so good to us here. In the next couple weeks our car will be hitting the 100,000 mile mark. She is all grown up!

and this new vacuum. Made a trip to Bed Bath and Beyond yesterday.. had wedding gift card left over and my husband was like a little boy at christmas. He is funny with FREE money. I think i learned that the way to his heart is probably gift cards, because the money doesnt have to come out of his pocket.
Anywho, we baught a little vacuum a while back that is CRAP. so we decided to upgrade, and this one has an attachment that comes off so we will be able to vacuum out our car as well! Yahoo. Very smart on our part. The vacuum will pay itself off after the first few times we do the car... NOT! haha Oh well, it's the simple things in life right? Like how much we appreciate a simple vacuum, obviously since i am blogging about it.

2. I am on a crafting frenzy. Last night i finished this wreath for our bedroom. I still have letters to finish and put up in our bedroom, and do with a friend's wedding gift and sign in book. I love it when i can do this. Its like Christmas when I can craft. I love it. Huston finally came to the conclusion that he can understand why i love it, he says its just like if he were to go jeeping, or have an RC car. Its a hobby i thouroughly enjoy.

3. It is a pain in the but when a cop follows you for over 30+ miles. We actually had to drive the speed limit to Kaneohe yesterday because a cop was behind us the entire way. Needless to say.. it was a long drive over there. And no we never got pulled over, just had to be law abiding citizens for once. If you know Huston, this was hard for him.

4. Enjoyed a Wendy's frosty yesterday with my husband. It brought back so many memories. I have not had one of those practically since we have been married. It was Amazing!

5. This morning when i opened my office door at work i was startled because i had visitors....

haha... Not cool. Pranksters

6. THE Amber Price came to visit us on Sunday. She spent the evening with us. I really enjoyed catching up with this girly. We were HS softball buddies, and she is like a little sister to me. I realized I am old though. I still imagined her to be this young girl, and she is all grown up and adult like. I cant believe I have been out of HS for 5 years now.

7. Excited for Mother in Law to visit in a few weeks. There is also alot of talk going on that the Rainey family will be here the first week of October. Im like beyond exstatic. I hope this happens, and cant wait to show my family around the island.

8. Im one hungry girl and sick of eating SALAD all the time, its too green and not greasy enough. Haha. This better pay off eventually. Exercise is becoming more apart of my routine schedule and less hard. Which is a very good thing.

9. Pretty sure its already the middle of August. WTF???  Where is time going. My little sister started her first day of Junior High and officially gets to experience being the "principals daughter" and my little brother will begin his first day of college next week. Why is everything changing?? I DO NOT and was not made or equipped to handle change very well. We have been talking alot about when we move back to Arizona. Im actually the one who is not ready for it. .. It's not that i dont want to be home, its that is so much change. We have invested 3 years of our lives here on this rock, and im content. I do not like to tackle change, but its apart of life i guess.

10.  My phone survived the toilet. umm ya.... I have never had a phone in my life survive much of anything.. ask my father. He knows... haha. But anywho... I dropped my phone in the toilet because it was in my back pocket and it fell out. Typical Kilie move... anywho.. it survived and its working like a champ. Just so everyone knows.. I have the Samsung Reality. Its the best phone i have ever had. I drop it all the time, and obviously it survives water. It literally works good as new from day one and is the only phone i have had for a full year length of time without having to get an insurance phone, new phone, etc. I guess im Verizon's best customer usually.

11. Oh and yesterday.... I ate over half my bowl of cereal....only to realize it was full of ants swimming in my milk. GROSS. At first my thoughts were like.. "its just a few ants" and it quickly turned to me loosing my appetite and not wanting my cereal anymore :(

And thats all folks.

Testimony

Last Sunday was fast sunday. I really wanted to bear my testimony but i always get SO nervous.

So i thought I would just do it here. :) And share it with all of you.

First of all, I am so grateful! My heart is full of gratitude towards my Heavenly Father. A few things I have truly learned lately is that he knows me better than anyone else. There is a reason I am here on this rock, away from all of my family, and back in school. He has his ways, and quite clearly his plans for me are different from my own. This is sometimes really hard to keep in mind, but he reminds me all the time through his small blessings. Heavenly Father gives me exactly what i need because he knows when I will need it. Like for instance, a note from a friend, my husband cleaning the house, a girls night out with the relief society, class discussions which are much needed...etc. I can count multiple times in the past month that Heavenly Father has shown me he loves me. It seems to always come at a time i need it the most too.

I was able to attend a co-worker of mine's baptism last week, and it was really special. It has been a long time since i had been to an actual baptism, and i loved the strong spirit that was there, as well as being reminded of that simple covenant i made when i was so young. I love being reminded that we were washed clean, and sin free. Initially we do the same thing every Sunday when we partake of the sacrament which is it's up-most importance. I LOVED being reminded of this. I think sometimes we get too caught up in the swing of things in our lives to remember that we are actually starting with a clean slate on Sunday's after we partake of the sacrament.

My heart is just so full. Sunday July 31st marks 17 years ago that I lost my big brother. 17 years ago I used to pester the crap out of him, and he probably didnt have much love for his younger sister, however that sunday i felt nothing but  love from my big brother. Heavenly Father blessed me with some beautiful memories, and I was able to spend most of the day in reverance thinking about my family and my brother. The veil is so thin. Often times i wander how thin it really is, because there have been multiple times in my life where i have witnessed angels supporting me and guiding me. It is a presence i can feel stronger than anything i have ever felt. I know that my brother looks out for me. I know that he knows we are ready to start our family, and he looks after his little neices and nephews up there. That is comforting to know, because i think i get caught up in being so impatient sometimes, however when i think about the eternal perspective, maybe my children just need more time with thier Father in Heaven. Maybe it is them who are not ready for earth, rather than us not ready to be parents. It is such an interesting trial, but once again...im learning Patience. Funny, because i think im pretty pro at that virtue already... I feel like alot has happened in my life for me to have to practice patience. Lets try another virture...haha ...ok ok, I will have to be more careful with what i say.

I know that the priesthood is a restored power here on this earth. I have witnessed many blessings because of it. Im grateful for my Father, and my husband who honor thier priesthood duties and who are willing to listen to the spirit with guidance.

I love the temple, and the oppurtunity i have had to attend more and more since it has re-opened. Huston and I have been able to complete some of our own family temple work, and take our own names to the temple. We set a goal when we first got married that we would attend twice a month, and I am very proud to say that since the temple here has re-opened in November we have been able to complete this goal each month. Every time we go, we feel comfort and strength. I love to listening to the words of the session and be reminded of all of the covenants we make. I also love performing other ordinances and just listening to the prayers. They are amazing words, with such a delecate spirit to them. I thank Heavenly Father for this wonderful santuary he has provided the saints with. It truly is "Heaven" on earth. I am in tears almost every time i enter the Celestial room.

I am grateful for the good examples and the friends "angels" Heavenly Father has provided us/me with. They motivate me to make better choices, and they are enjoyable people. We have some friends who have started a "scripture study" blog, and i enjoy reading it, because it helps me to see what other people are getting out of the scriptures as well, and it also makes me motivated to study as well. I also have another friend of a different faith who posts on her blog every day using some sort of scriptural reference and she applies to her life. She is always so happy, and her happiness radiates because of the light of Christ. If those arent motivation./good examples/ angels sent to me then i  guess i dont know what an angel is, because we truly have the best people in our lives and we are so grateful for them. Recently Huston and I have made a goal to give everyone we know the benefit of the doubt, and stop "gossiping" or speaking unkind words about anyone. It has truly helped us, we have grown to love the people around us so much more. It has been a good goal, not easy to accomplish because we are human, but a good goal for us to set together and help each other with.

I LOVE my Heavenly Father. He knows the intentions of my heart, he knows my weaknesses, my trials, my shortcomings. He knows them because he has experienced every single one of them. He has a PLAN just for me.  Thats right, an individual plan FOR ME. He is constantly reminding me of that, and I am grateful to him. I am also very grateful for the Holy Ghost and its companionship to help me make the right choices and guide me in the right direction.

I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

Saturday

Saturday's usually consist of getting out of Laie and hitting up a movie and dinner, or the mall and just enjoying life outside of "smallville."

However this Saturday we were on a budget....that budget being FREE due to the fact that we are trying to save for new tires on the car. haha see about 4 posts previous to this one titled "tires"

I got off work at 1pm and Huston and I took a little nap because he had just gone running, and I just got off work.

After our nap..we decided to go up to where I work and take advantage of my golf benefits finally. We just hit a bucket of balls at the range, but decided we should probably start playing nine holes after my shift. Why not right? Besides Golf isn't such a bad sport. I really enjoyed hitting balls, except for the guys at work were watching us and im pretty sure they laughed at me. Thats just because they are golf snobs who have worked here for years and know what they are actually doing(sarcasm)..I actually really like Everyone i work with.

After Golf we ran to Foodland to return our movies from the night before and we caved in on our Free budget and decided that  buying ice cream was completely justifyable and affordable. Root beer floats to be exact.

We came back home. We ate an amazing "Man" dinner(Avocado and bacon grilled cheese sandwhich on sourdough bread), its really yummy, then we played some Kinect Bowling which was pretty competetive and fun.

After that we decided to stroll over and play tennis. After we played tennis, (I won, we played best out of 7, just had to put that in there) we went swimming.

All together it was what seemed like a VERY long saturday afternoon but we kept busy and it was actually very relaxing and just the two of us all day. We really enjoyed ourselves as we kept busy and had little competitions all day.

After swimming we showered up, and put on a movie while we enjoyed fantastic rootbeer floats. Somehow i got suckered into watching "Tommy Boy" however it ended up being pretty fun, but because i had to watch it, Huston has to watch the "Notebook" with me today.

Side Note:
we love housesitting and enjoying the eminities. 1. tennis 2. pool 3. Kinect sports 4. walking to work 5. HUGE TV and surround sound 6. it is just far enough from Laie to feel like we got out of town for a little while. They come home next week and we will be pretty sad to have to give up the place. That month went pretty quick.

Nice people

I love kind people.

On Wednesday August 9- Huston and I were browsing produce at Costco. We both love acocados and when we have them we go through them pretty quickly. I mean you can put it on almost everything. Our favorite thing lately is just making a simple guacamole spread and putting it on a piece of sour dough toast.

Anywho- as we were about to grab our $9 bag of small avocados a lady next to me said... "hey if you would like i have some big avocado's in the bag of my car, i could sell them to ya for a $1 a piece. Huston and I both agreed, hey why not save a little money.  So we met them out at thier car...

a little risky.. i know....

but... these people were SOOOO nice. This lady gave us 6 HUGE avocado's for only $5.  We got twice the amount of food for less $ and we all know that pleased Huston! :)

Thank you nice lady at Costco for making my day. Its nice to know honest people like you still exist in today's world.

see any difference???  Bottom picture of acocado is way smaller... ya those are Costco avocado's. Top picture Avocado's are very large, and very round ones that we were able to get.  Pictures just dont it justice!

Ballroom Dancing

IM SOO EXCITED~! Huston doesnt know this yet, but starting in January, we are registering for a Social Dance class. Aka-Ballroom dancing. :)

I mentioned the idea to him, he was a little unsure and tried telling me that he wouldnt be able to take it... but we shall see. I happen to know his school password and could "accidentally" register him for this class.

It would be a blast! I have always wanted to take these sort of classes together before. I heard you actually learn multiple kinds of dancing and i think we would have a lot of fun.

I had no idea they offered these kinds of classes for college credit. Why not take it!??
