My Heavenly Father Loves Me...

I have had nothing but love from Heavenly Father the past couple of days. I have been pretty down on myself lately i suppose. I had been so tired, and slept so much the past couple weeks, that i felt useless and just lazy. I felt like i could be using my time so much better, and i even managed to forget about quite a few assignments. Lucky for me i have awesome teachers who have allowed me to still finish the work at full points, but... you know, sometimes i guess we as human beings tend to feel down on ourselves or inadequate. It is Satan whispering in your ear that you are a disappointment and that you are not capable of being the BEST. Anywho.. Sunday being fast sunday for our ward..and with Huston and I's new goal to fast this year, we fasted. Sunday morning was chaos because i was late for work (yes i have to work some sundays, but i can still go to church, i get off in time) so Huston and I were unable to begin our fast together. We fasted separately. Therefore as i began thinking of what i could fast for, i thought i should fast for energy and self confidence since i had been so tired and down on myself lately.

Already i have felt a tremendous difference since i have broken my fast. I came home to brownies and a nice note from my sweet neighbor Rachel telling me she loved me. and Yesterday on my day off, my gilbert girls who i LOVE so much, invited me to spend a girls day at the beach with them. We have not had much girl time all semester. They payed for my breakfast, which was not at all expected, but i was very thankful for, and we all spent the day relaxing on the beach and tanning. The weather was finally a perfect day. We then went to get ice cream( a MUST on girls day) and came home. It was perfect!

After this fun morning, i was able to Skype with my family for about an hour and half. I talked to every single one of them. My brother, my sister, my mom and dad all individually. It was amazing! I love it when i get to do that. and i know that somehow Heavenly Father made that happen for me. and well..maybe for my mom too. haha, she loves to get to do that too!

We then had the sister missionaries over for dinner. I love having them over. They are such wonderful people and we have had the chance to have them in our home often. They were so complimentary, and asked us kindly to sign up on the calendar again because they love coming over. (this was a big compliment, because we do love them so much)

Just as we were about to head to bead after a wonderful FHE, my visiting teacher showed up at my door. I know this was JUST for me. I will add, i have not been visit taught in about 6 months. So it was a surprise to me, yet i was very appreciative. My first thought when i saw that it was her, was "WOW, Heavenly Father is truly showing me how much he loves me today! I cant believe this!" I truly enjoyed a much needed visit with my friend, and i am so grateful she came by to visit! She almost did not show up because she could not get ahold of her companion, but she decided anyway that she needed to come up alone. AWESOME!! I love HEAVENLY FATHER and his true tender mercies.

As we finally got to bed as a couple, Huston rolled over to give me a hug and kiss, and whispered in my ear "you are the most beautiful girl i have ever known. and i truly am so glad you are mine forever, i cant imagine spending my life with anyone else."

So... My point is not to brag about how spoiled i was yesterday... but to TESTIFY that the concept of sacrifice and Fasting with purpose is truly an eternal concept. Heavenly Father does, and will bless those who follow with obedience to his principles. and my other point is that YOU SHOULD NEVER FORGET THAT HE LOVES YOU! HEAVENLY FATHER LOVES ALL OF HIS CHILDREN SOO MUCH! When you forget this, count your blessings! You will see, truly how much the Lord's hand is in everything.

Have a good week all!

PS. CONGRATS JULIE CROFT FOR GETTING ENGAGED!! HE IS ONE LUCKY MAN!!!

Seasiders Basketball

Byu-Hawaii's mens basketball team played for the Division II National Title this morning. It was an exciting game to watch. Especially the rode to the championship. However, they were unable to make it out on top. They fought a hard battle to make it to the top, and we are proud of them. We faithfully watched most all of the games, and truly enjoyed their season. good job boys!! You had a KILLER season, and represented us well! We are FANS!!! GO SEASIDERS!!!!

Date Night..

(i took this picture for Huston. its his lovely wife, and sexy boyfriend that kept hitting on him.)

We had an unusually eventful and fun date night on friday. Our neighbors planned a really awesome date and invited us along. We started by going to town pretty early. Like 4pm, and our oh so kind husbands politely followed Rachel and I around Nordstrom's Rack looking for easter dresses. Rachel and I combined probably tried on the WHOLE entire's stores stock on dresses. but the boys were patient and provided some good positive feedback, with that being said, Rachel found a beautiful dress, and i came home empty handed because i didn't find anything i liked. After the dress shopping, we ate at Buca Di Beppo. It was SOO good and we had a good time. The waiter...was hitting on my husband the WHOLE time. not exaggerating. We were cracking up. He would literally only refill Huston's drink, and talk to Huston. haha. My cup was empty almost the entire time. but even though he was gay, he was sooo cool. We told him it was my birthday as a joke, and he totally knew we were lying, and teased us...and we confessed...Yet the joke was on us, because he still brought me out candles and sang to me. It was AWESOME! haha I loved that! .. of course!

After stuffing our faces, we were ready to play some games so we headed over to Dave and Busters where we entered a land and became 5 years old again. Nothing like a little friendly competition and winning tickets. We came home with shot glasses, and Ben and Rachel ended up having to spot us a few tickets. haha... Yep we are that good.

Good date planning those neighbors of ours are. Thank you for inviting us! We had fun and Love you guys!!

Afro went goodbye

About 3 weeks ago Huston went over to our neighbors house and came home with hair clippers and sat in a chair and said "im ready!" like a little kid. haha.. i laughed and said.. "ya right!? you really want me to cut your hair?" he said, eh...what the heck, lets try it, i want you to learn. .... So i took the clippers strait to it. We were both pretty much freaking out the whole time, but all in all i think i did a pretty good job despite going a little too short around the ears, and shaving off his sideburns..woops, didnt know he liked those. But really.... it looks good. His hair was SOOOO long, and he has soo much of it. but we had fun. we saved some money and we were happy!

Freedom Writers

In english...we just watched the movie Freedom Writers... and..I cried. I cried, cried, cried for these students who are fighting for their lives. most of them only 14 years old. It made me think about my major. Social Work. .. How am i supposed to do this job someday when i cry like a baby watching the movie Freedom Writers? .. Well if i have anything to do with it i guess, these children would not be fighting for their lives, they would feel safe and i will do my job the best i know how to make them feel safe. Thats what Social Workers do right?
