Today the Farnsworth's are thankful for EACH other. We have been living on this (ROCK) island for 2 years toegther and we are far away from both of our families and have really had to learn to rely on one another. We were best friends before we got married, but now I would say we are SUPER best friends because we have had to experience things differently. We only have each other. Thats the best way to do it when your first starting out in my opinion. We wouldnt change a thing because we have grown so much closer together and our relationship truly has built its own foundation that we can just continue to build off of.

Suprise Date
In honor of all the snow the mainland was getting...we coudlnt help but be a little bit jealous...We decided it would be fun to go to the only place on the island where you can see your breath.
Huston suprised me with a great date. He told me to pack socks, and to wear pants and bring a sweater and off we were to the "ICE PALACE." We were going Ice Skating. I was a little hestitant, seeing how the last time we went ice skating (after his mission), Huston thought he could do this....
and this was the result... literally.. not that dramatic, but pretty much. He had to get stitches above his eyebrow
Anyway...October is kind of a really fun month for us.
Huston took me on our first date the second weekend of October exactly 5 years ago. Yes people. 5 years ago, and about 3 weeks later we shared our first kiss.
Our first kiss was not the most magical. In fact I was so embarassed. We were Ice Skating with some friends on a group date, and we were teasing each other about kissing, and I basically dared him to kiss me in front of everyone, and I thought that I was certain he would NOT do that. But, HE DID. I was caught totally off guard and completely embarrassed or worried that someone might have seen us kiss. Not to mention, it was only our first.
And then....
When we all got back on the ice, I was so twitterpated I fell flat on my rear. Not just gracefully, but head first sliding all over the ice kind of fall. If the embarassment factor had not kicked in yet, it was in full foce by now. I tried really hard to get up before he saw me on the ground, but I was on ice people, give a girl a break. Huston turned around when he noticed I was missing, and I could see his grin from ear to ear. He came and helped me up and broke my fall with a sweet kiss on my forehead and then softly kissed my lips AGAIN. In front of everyone. Such a romantic huh? I think this might of been when I knew I was going to marry him.
and.. Im so glad I did..marry him.
So what?..Ice Skating has some sentamental value to us, and it was fun to re-create it. Thanks babe for a great date! We had a great time together. We laughed alot, caught our balance alot, made alot of circles around the ice, danced or attempted to, could see our breath, and enjoyed watching all the teenagers think they were so cool, even though thought we were too. After ice skating there was a small car show we walked around. Huston is obsessed, so it was fun to see him get excited like a little kid too.We finished the night with some RED LOBSTER to eat some crab. Its my favorite, and we dont get to eat it often. My man sure knows how to take care of his girl.
I think I have to add to learn how to do one figure skating stunt to my bucket list. It may not be a triple axle but something really cool would be nice. I always used to watch the Olympics with my grandma Rainey and she always used to ask me if I wanted to be a figure skater. It was a dream, I used to always aspire to be one until I started playing Volleyball. The Ice Skaters were so beautiful and so flawless on the ice. I cant help but think if my grandma whenever I see figure skating or go ice skating.

Nuture
When I was little I used to love playing with dolls, making homes inside a shoe box for rocks, catching bugs and keeping them as pets to "take care of", one time I even made a house for a squirrel outside in an old tree stump thinking the squirrel would become my new pet.
I loved to nurture. I loved to have critters and keep them just so I could feed them, make them a new home, and give them a name. I liked having new friends. We wont talk about how many of my friends survived or my nurturing skills, but you get the picture. I liked to nurture.
Truth is....I still do. And since we cant get a puppy (wouldnt be suitable for the shoe box we live in) and I dont have a baby yet...
I have resorted to this...
I planted myself a little herb garden in these little pots. I water them every day. Keep them inside, and take them out for sun for a couple hours a day. Thier names are rosemary, basil, arugala, spinach, and cilantro. Creative I know. Arugala is already sprouting, along with the spinach.
It brings such a smile to my face to see my little sprouts. I feel like an elementary school student doing a science project, but at least its fun and I can smile.

Is it Christmas Yet?
Costco has out all of thier Christmas items. Including..........
We couldnt resist buying. Its our FAVORITE and its almost gone already. We purchased it on Friday. Yep. You do the Math.
You know how your senses are directly related to your memory, and certain scents and tastes can take you right back to that exact spot? Well Egg Nog does this. Everytime I drink Egg Nog I think of Christmas mornings with my little brother before mom and dad wake up to let us open presents.
We both cant wait to get home for the Holidays.

Katie (2) My friend growing up. I have known her since Kindergarten. Hope she had a great day! :)

Whats your Brick Wall?
Whats your brick wall? ...Chose not to cry! Its the better way.
Aloha fellow bloggers.
It has been a stressful and busy month. Full of some festive cheap crafts, registering for classes, figuring out work and income and finances, new goals to work towards, working out, planning relief society activities, figuring out when we can come home for the holidays(late notice, i know), adjusting to having opposite schedules, you know... the normal
I have a lot of thoughts. I need to put them somewhere.
Everyone should read D&C 29 46-48
46 But behold, I say unto you, that little achildren are redeemed from the foundation of the world through mine Only Begotten;
47 Wherefore, they cannot asin, for power is not given unto Satan to btempt little children, until t
they cbegin to become daccountablebefore me;
48 For it is given unto them even as I will, according to mine own apleasure, that great things may be required at the hand of their bfathers.
Its a great scripture and my amazing D&C teacher Jerry Wilson, always knows exactly what to say when I need him to say it. Its quite inspirational.
Anyway, the scripture reminded me that even though i am tried and tempted, great things are required at my hand. Even though life is not always easy, and I feel like I am the only one of the planet right now who is not pregnant, Great things are still required of me. I am still accountable for my actions. Which brings me back to the photo above, my brick wall. Which do you choose? Choose not to cry, and move forward. Great things are required at the hand of our father. He is counting on us, to do the right thing and prevail whatever comes our way.
On an even more positive note...Last night, the husband and I were able to go to the Haunted Lagoon. We had so much fun. It sort of felt like Disneyland, waiting in line for an hour. The Haunted Lagoon is a canoe ride through the lagoon at the Polynesian Cultural Center and this year there was even a haunted house before the lagoon. Super props to the PCC it was great and a lot of effort is put forth to make it fantastic. We truly enjoyed spending time together and going out. You would think we had not been out of our house for a while or that we have not been on any dates(even though we have). I guess sometimes its nice to just get out oh and the "Laie lady" gives me the creeps. Hands down a pretty creepy island tale.
That job i recently posted about being grateful to have... well.. I don't have it anymore. ok well not really. I do have the job, I just need a new one. Starting Dec. 18th, I will only be able to work weekends because when the new semester begins i have classes everyday. This has been stressful to figure out what to do because its such a perfect job. I am grateful they will allow me to work weekends, however it is all still in limbo. If they hire someone else, I might lose my hours. So I might ask for a few extra prayers coming our way that we may be able to figure out our financial future for next semester. Granted, we don't have to figure it out until January, but we just don't want to get stuck in a bind.
Guess what else is exciting? January 20th 2012 is the deadline for December graduation. Yep, that means in just three short months our graduation applications will be completed.
On to new talk... looking into grad schools already, because deadlines for applications will be right after graduation in December 2012. Let me clarify, grad schools for myself...The husband wants to get some work experience first, but if we have no children by then, i might as well jump right into it. BYU Provo. ASU. UVU. are my favorite choices so far. Im sure there will be others. I have started a pros and cons list and we will eventually map out the "Plan" to see if it agrees with Heavenly Fathers as well. Who knows where that could take us. I wish I knew.

Today
Today is one of those days.
The kind where you never want to leave your bed because your so exhausted. Both of us .... The kind where you pantry is empty because you haven't made the hour trip to costco yet because your too busy. The kind where your house is a mess and you just don't want to do anything about it.
This morning though, after sleeping in...Huston and I treated ourselves to a lovely morning date. We had Mcdonald's for breakfast and took it upon ourselves to lay out a blanket and have a morning breakfast on the beach. After which we both came back to take another nap. Ya, its both of us. Not quite sure why, but we are both exhausted from school, work, and stress. It could also be all this rain we are starting to get.
Anywho, this morning might have to count as our "Date" because tonight we will be spending our time at Costco! TGIF!!!
