San Diego

5 year anniversary present was a trip to San Diego.

We recreated our Honeymoon, it was a blast and our first KID FREE trip. I struggled more than Huston, but Maylie didn't even miss us.

We went to the zoo, ate good food, went whale watching, lounged at our hotel, went to seaport village, different beaches, rented bikes , saw the temple, visited my cousin, went to old town, drank mexican hot chocolate, went seashell hunting, and watched a few sunsets.

Our trip was dreamy and we were sad to come home!

things I'm loving

I haven't posted in FOREVER> 2014 was a terrible blog year. I am more of the instagram, Facebook type. However I realized how vague I am in my posts. I have this cool app called Timehop, which tells me what happened 1 year, 2 years, up to 5-6 years ago, and these posts are fun to see but the descriptions are usually vague. I want to remember details.

Anyway... Some things I'm loving...

1. We have been married 5 years. Thats a big milestone to me. We celebrated with a night alone at Cheesecake factory, and Jesterz improv.

2. Huston surprised me with tickets to San Diego Zoo. 5 years ago we went on our honeymoon to San Diego. I begged to go to the Zoo, but my new husband wanted to go to Magic Mountain and ride roller coasters instead, so thats what we did. In 5 years I haven't let him forget how bad i wanted to go to the zoo! I cried, It was the most thoughtful thing he's ever done for me and I totally wasn't expecting it. In fact, I thought our plans were to go to Colorado. I guess that was before I got pregnant (the plan was to ski and snowboard.)

3. Maylie's language is taking off. She is such a copy cat. Its scary. My favorite things she says are "No way!" "Hey, Hey, Hey!" She pretends to read books by telling me about the pictures, she carries around my ultra sound pictures saying "my baby" she tells the dog to "get down, and SIT!" When she wants something she very impatiently yells "Mama, or DADDY" "Mo Milk" (Chocolate milk) Heaven forbid you give the girl regular milk. "anda, Ho Ho Ho" (Santa) "Moman" (Snowman)

4. We found out we are going to be having a.............. ya.... Im not telling yet. but we do know what we are having for baby #2. We will tell once its confirmed at my 18 week appointment. Im currently 14 weeks. Im exhausted, but I'm finally feeling like I won't be nauseous anymore. This pregnancy has been SO different

5. Im done Christmas shopping. Woohoo. Now we can enjoy the Holiday.

6. The way the Lord provides for our family in times of need. Huston recently interviewed for a HUGE position with a 7 physician group of doctors. He would run their practice for them. (He is currently running a ONE physician group) Well, He was offered the position but was not feeling good about it at all. It was actually kinda scary how things just did not line up, even though it would be an awesome opportunity for our little family. Well, somehow his current boss found out about the job he was offered, and they didn't want to lose him so they offered Huston a raise and to pay our benefits (which we were currently very much stressing about, because its dang $$$$) We honestly couldn't believe how things worked out. The Lord has blessed us so much in our lives, especially when we give him all of our trust.

7. Christmas magic, and transforming our home for the holidays. It was expensive this year because we literally had nothing, but I think I managed to make our home magical like my mom used to make hers.

8. Huston planted winter grass in our backyard. Its beautiful

9. Our amazing ward. We barely know anyone, and people have been dropping off loads of treats on our door. I can't believe the amazing people who are welcoming us and sharing their Christmas spirit and love.

10. Maylie saw santa

soo.. Im pregnant.

So two months ago... i kind of wrote a freak out post and deleted it. A post about infertility...  Two months ago, I learned my ovaries were covered in cysts. yep... polycystic ovaries. When i was diagnosed all I heard was HARD TO CONCEIVE. My cycle was irregular because of it... all that jazz....

To regulate my cycle the doc could put me on birth control, or ..... Femara, which is basically Chlomid. Since we were not wanting to prevent "birth"... I chose Femara. Which regulates your period in the way of... dun dun dun... OVULATION.

long story short... two months. two cycles later, I was pregnant.

heres how I kind of knew...

I got carsick on a trip to lakeside.- I never get carsick.
I took 3 naps. 3... I never nap.
I was emotional, and crying ALOT.
I havent cried in a while...
I was late. Obvious sign
I took 3 negative pregnancy tests (cheap ones)
Still no period...
Bought and expensive test.... Clear Blue, BAM.

two seconds... life changing news.
Fetus number two is underway.

We are excited. Beyond excited. I couldnt believe it really. Mostly fear starting running through my brain. We love Maylie SOOO much. TOO much, how can I love another child this much? How can this child change our family dynamic so much? Am i ready? Yikes.

So far, Fetus number two is GREAT. Much nicer to mommy than Maylie. I feel Great. I havent puked yet, knock on wood. I have energy. its interesting...

Maylie is excited for a sibling... She kisses mommies belly and asks wheres my baby? every stinking morning.

I am due at the end of June.

I am 8 weeks Pregnant. Yes, early to announce. But we aren't big secret keepers.

Planning

Ok well last weekend was the women's general conference. My mom and sister started a new tradition where we go together and eat dinner and go shoppin! We all
Invited someone to go but none of our guests could join!

In the message I felt strongly that a lot of my time is idled. I'm a stay at home mom and some days I plop my kid in front of the TV... And I noticed it's probably too much now that Maylie actually asks for it.

I decided the following week would be much better. I would actually plan out my week.

It was such a good week. Maylie did something fun everyday! I loved watching her enjoy the day :) and I felt better as a mom having stuff planned for her and myself.

It was a lot of work because I'm not really a planner but it got me out of the house and away from the TV or from my phone.

We got school pictures taken. Benefit of mom being an employee. I love this years pics so much.
Maylie got to play with her Farnsworth cousins who were in town for a week. She swam and the. Played. She's the youngest but they are all staggered by one year so she was in heaven.
We made a few trips to visit our friends who had new babies
Tracy Oliver had spencer
Kelli porter has abbigail

My parents went to general conference and saw Todd (Hustons cousin) being escorted out by security. How embarrassing and funny!
My mom baught Maylie this cute Halloween necklace and I'm obsessed. It's so cute!

Huston had a birthday

For Huston's birthday, all he wanted was camping gear. And to go camping.

Well, our camping buddies pooped out on us, as well as we felt we need to watch General Conference with some of his family members who have been needing a little extra encouragement. We were bummed, but made a great family weekend out of it.

The past 4-5 weeks someone has visited our house or been in town. Ive been needing/begging for some alone time with just our little family and Huston agreed.

So Friday night Huston set up his new tent he got for his birthday. We did a family movie night on our new air mattress in the tent, and Maylie was obsessed, she loved it.

Saturday we went to breakfast at biscuits

and then we took one of my parents kayaks to saguaro lake and just enjoyed the beautiful weather and went swimming and packed a lunch.

It was so refreshing to spend time with just our little family of three, and you could tell Maylie was also very happy to have mommy and daddy's FULL attention.

Sunday, on Huston's actual day we hosted a conference party at our house with Huston's siblings and cousin Kallie. We ate food all day (our tradition) beginning with waffles, and ending with cafe rio sweet pork. All the birthday boys requests. It was  a wonderful day watching the word of the Lord from our prophets and apostles.

Im so blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life.

This weekend is also the 8 year anniversary of our first date. :) So glad and grateful for that first date 8 years ago. :) I never imagined how important that day would be in my life.
