If i could go to Heaven for a day....

If i could go to heaven for a day. I would go tomorrow. Feb. 4th, 2011.. I would go just to tell my big brother Happy Birthday and that he is "old". I would go to see his smiling face, and would spend the day with him. He would tell me about his life in heaven and his missionary work, and we would celebrate his birthday together like brothers and sisters should do. After all, i am his favorite little sister. We would eat ice cream, and reminess about family and laugh together. I can imagine that our relationship would be as though he never left. He would be my best friend. I know it. I would tell him stories as if he were never gone. As if he had been an earthly part of my life forever.

Oh what a dream this day will be. .. I CANT WAIT to see my brother again.

Dear Braiden.
How are you doing?? Tell me whats new in Heaven? I often wander about your life. More in an earthly sense though. Like would i have a great sister in law? Would i have neices and nephews right now? Would you be the genious that Jenson is? Would you have a college degree? In what? Where would YOU be in life!? Would we be close? Would you come visit me in Hawaii? I know that you probably have all of this in Heaven, and loving it. I just wish i knew the answers. I will tell you what though, i CANT WAIT to see you again.I also mostly cant wait to see the reaction on mom's face when she see's she has more grandchildren, who call her Gramma NEE NEE, instead of aunt Nee Nee, or Ny Ny.
By the way, Happy Birthday. I love you. I cant believe another year has gone by. Time is going by way too fast. I often think about you. Mostly when i am in the temple. I can sometimes feel your presence, and i love that. I think that keeps me going back, Aside from the spirit that is felt there, and the much humbling i need to keep doing to myself. The temple makes me feel unselfish. Its a good thing. Believe it or not, I your sister, is a human being, and can be pretty selfish sometimes. Lucky for me, i got a good husband who puts up with me.
Last year i wrote about getting married. Can you believe its been a year? I think you would really enjoy Huston. He is a very good young man, worthy of your sister no worries. He takes very good care of me, and is very understanding like Dad is. Marlie and Jenson approve, i can only imagine that you would too.
There are some updates.. I caved into the voices in my head from MOM AND DAD saying "GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND GET YOUR EDUCATION. YOU NEED A DEGREE." Its been a change going back to school, but its where i am supposed to be. I am actually enjoying it. I have grown up alot. This journey into adulthood is a good thing. Also Huston and I were able to go home for Christmas. Thanks to Mom and Dad helping out. We had sooooo much fun. It had been way too long, and it was a much needed trip. I cried alot when we had to leave. Yep, I know...CRY BABY. You would call me that because your my BIG BROTHER. I also tried out for the Volleyball team here, and can you say OUT OF SHAPE?? But it was a good challenge and goal to work towards. I came very close! You would be proud!
Well... Jenson graduates this year. Where did time even go? I have been out of HS for officially 5 years almost. Anyways, Jenson is a phenominal person. Some lady someday is going to be one LUCKY duck. He is straight as an arrow and has high goals set that i know he will achieve. He will soon be putting in mission papers. That is crazy to me. He will be amazing, you have no idea of this kids dedication to the gospel. He is such a good example. I wish i had his determination and drive. You would be a very proud brother. Which, i know you already are.
Marlie, she is a funny one. She is my best friend. The girl is pretty much an adult already. She is very smart, and funny. You would always laugh because of her wittiness. She came to our family and completed it. You are missed, but i guarantee Marlie makes up for it all and more. She too has a big heart and would never let anyone sit alone at the lunch table. I am impressed with the type of person she is becoming. It is hard for me to be away from thier lives. Jenson and Marlie and my best friends aside from Huston. Thats how i know you and i would get along so well.
After you left, i longed for that "older" sibling bond so much that i decided i would never leave Jenson and Marlie wishing they had that bond. I made sure they always knew they were my friend, like i longed for you to be mine. It has been the biggest blessing in my life to watch them grow up. They are such good people. All in which i credit to Mom and Dad.
Mom seems to be doing better with Huston and I being away, but after leaving at Christmas i learned it was all just a face. She misses us alot more than it appears. haha. Dad too. Its hard to be away from them, but i try to call every now and again so they know we are alive. Mom is still working at Houston Elementary, and Dad still at Gilbert Jr. In thier spare time you will find them at the gym. They look GREAT! seriously, Mom and Dad have never looked better, and they are always there for us kids. Mom and Dad have been very helpful to us this first year of marraige, in more ways than one. We have been very blessed. They miss you too.
I remember last year before the wedding Huston and i were searching for old videos/pictures for our slide show at the wedding and we came across some home videos with you in them.I watched them with Huston, and i cried. ALOT. Huston knew how much you meant to me at that moment. You are my BIG BROTHER, and i still long for that earthly relationship with you, until i remember that Heaven is so much better.

I love you Braiden. Happy Birthday. We all miss you, and cant WAIT to see you again. Good luck this year in all your heavenly endeavors. Your an old man, 27 is pretty old.

Love your Sis

"Afro Haole"

im a dead wife for posting this.. but no one tell! He never reads this thing anyways.. haha

My husband is a very happy, smiley person. He also has some very distinct features, like... HIS HAIR. haha. Anyways, i have pictures of him on my binder and without fail, in every class i have ever been in here at BYU-H... People say... THATS YOUR HUSBAND? I know him!! haha.. Sometimes, people even forget to ask my name, or say hello. Here is one i had'nt heard yet..

local boy: "you know what we call your husband?"

ME: "beats me, what do you call my husband?"

Local boy say... "We call him "Afro Haole." Everyone knows who he is but we dont always remember or know his name. So we started saying white boy, afro, "Afro Haole." ..

ME: start laughing really hard. "That is too funny."

It made my day! Its true though, he is always smiling, and everyone does know who he is. But this conversation by far was the best ever. I told Huston. He laughed too, only he doesnt really like the term "Haole" because his dream is to be as brown as they are, and sometimes i swear he thinks he is a local.

For those of you who dont know what the word Haole means, here is the definition:

is generally used to refer to an individual that fits one (or more) of the following: "White person, American, Englishman, Caucasian; American, English; in the Hawaiian language. (Its like being called a cracker pretty much)... very rascist word unless you are friends. Almost like calling a black person the N word, however used alot looser, and its more common. You will hear the word more frequently.

SMILE! :)

New years resolution..

This photo may of had some editing done to it... however... I think its safe to say that once upon a time, we were pretty close to being that tan...

It is my new years resolution to look that good again. Tan, with a little less weight in the rear/thigh/stomach/face area. :)

Last Year v/s This Year

Last Year versus This Year

Last year at this time .. we were...
1. living in a studio apt with no OVEN for $1200/mo
2. could barely pay rent, or afford to go to dinner for my birthday.
3. I was not working, nor had any interest in going to school
4. I was on birth control (BAD IDEA)
5. Huston was working at PCC 3 nights a week (1am-7am) to help make ends meet
6. We had only been married for a whole month
7. I barely knew what to do in the kitchen. (couldnt cook)
8. I was severly homesick, and getting used to being away from family
9. We didnt know what the word "Haole" meant ( local term for "white people") nor did we know where Pounder's beach was.
10. We didnt have much of a tan either... Yet.

Now, 2011 ..1 year later

1. We live in TVA and have a full kitchen
2. Huston is an RA- no more night shifts, and FREE rent.
3. I work Full time and i am going to school :) ... AGAIN
4. I am off Birth Control- it made me crazy
5. We have both improved our cooking skills-and can make meals, and be creative in the kitchen (it took alot of learning for me)
6. We have made a trip home, so i am not homesick... YET
7. We can afford to save $ and are able to meet our sufficient needs
8. We have x box
9. We have been married a whole ONE year and ONE month.
10. and we still dont have much of tan either... haha

- can you say BLESSED much?? The point i am trying to get across, is that i cant believe how much our lives have changed in a year. When we were first starting out it was really hard. but i cant even comprehend to tell you how much help we had, and how much we have been blessed and continue to be blessed. I was just thinking about it today....and i asked myself what were we doing at this point in our lives last year?. and then i asked myself HOW WERE WE ABLE TO DO THAT???.. and maybe these are cheesy comparisons to you, but i realized how hard life was at this time last year. We were struggling financially, and i was not working, all at the same time we were adjusting to marraige and moving to a new place a whole ocean away from what we call home. .. So.. We have come A LONNNNGG ways to get where we are today... and we couldnt be more grateful for that.

Quote...

Lately, i have been really tired, ALL the time. I cant figure it out. I thought that it was just a bad/stressful week last week, but it has carried into this week. I have been going to bed early, and waking up late for work. and it feels like my days are DRAGGGGING on...because all i want to do is go home and rest/relax by watching TV or being on my computer, or just cuddling with my husband. This tiredness has equaled out to NO MOTIVATION to do anything. Except last night i managed to do laundry and do our dishes and organize all of our junk that compiles during the week on our dinner table. haha... Anywho... Today.. i was writing in my school planner when i found this QUOTE at the bottom of the page:

" After suitable rest and relaxation there is not a day, hour, or minute that we should spend in idleness, but every minute of every day of our lives we should strive to improve our minds and icrease our faith in the holy Ghost." -Brigham Young

Needless to say, i highlighted it in hopes to refer to it all week long. Tonight i wont be home till 9-10pm. Work, class, homework in library/math lab, then english workshop for extra credit. .. can you say LONG? hopefully at that point i can crawl into bed and just go to sleep. :) thats my negatory blogging today. Sorry im such a downer. But really.. Good quote huh?? Hopefully its a little motivation!

Could be Worse....

In response to the last post, I found these pictures...laughed...and realized... it could be worse

On the up side, my neighbor knew i had a bad day and she showed up at my door with a chocolate candy bar. .. .I almost cried. It was SOO nice of her to do that.

I took off work today and tomorrow.. but in turn i have to work the weekend. I needed a day off though.

Tomorrow we are going to the temple

I cleaned my house today! it looks great!(this includes doing the dishes, which are always PILED up at our house.) I MOSTLY LOVE A CLEAN KITCHEN! and when Huston does the dishes, but i was happy to do them today. haha

My birthday is Next week!!!:)

thats all.

Hard Semester...

Having been in class this semester for almost a full month now, i will complain about my schedule. ... My classes this semester consist of, Statistics, English 201,History, Book of Mormon, and on Online class. Statistics is a challenge. hard and time consuming. English i am actually enjoying, however i am not sure how the teacher grades papers yet. we will see. History.. now History i am going going to complain about. Mostly the teacher. she is seriously evil. i cant handle it. it is her way of the high way basically. i wrote a paper for her, and felt strongly like i followed her guidelines, and apparently it was not even close. her favorite saying is " its in the syllabus, so i wont answer that question." ...i want to believe she is nice, but its like she truly wants her students to fail. literally. the longer i am in her class the more i am realizing her harshness. I HATE history in the first place, and now i have a terrible teacher. Recently i recieved a 3.5/20 on her quizzes. granted i could be doing better on my part, but ....its a HARRRRDDDDDD class. hopefully in the end it will turn out better because as of right now.. its not lookin too great for my grade. so...pray for me please. .. Ps. I work full time. and im always tired. Those are my complaints. but Huston and I are making time to read and pray every night and its helping.

That same teacher i just said i hated, well she just gave this awesome quote in class:
" A man who mas made a mistake and doesnt correct it, is making another mistake." -Chinese Proverb

What do you think? was she talking about MY quiz grade??? yep! HA!
Maybe i shouldnt blog in her class...???
