Baby Shower

t

This should have been posted in January. Like i have been saying. Im a little behind. My baby shower was awesome.  Thrown by Sister Smith and one of my best friends mom's Laurie Lines. It was a good turn out. More people came to support us than i expected. I am certainly more than grateful. I havent sent out thank you's but I wanted to definitely make it known how grateful we are. The only thing we have had to purchase for our child thus far in 4 months of her life is 1 package of diapers when she ran out of new born size, and formula. We have truly been taken care of. I got everything I needed pretty  much at my shower, and what I didnt get a friend of mine had and still continues to give to me. Clothes, high chair, baby swing, baby bouncer, bumbo, boppy, crib....etc. She gave me everything. Seriously the Lord was looking out for us when we had this baby. She has been well taken care of through the auspices of others, and we are so grateful! Thank you Jenifer Starkey and everyone else for making Maylie's life comfortable and ours easier to live.

Baby Blessing

Should have been posted in February. We blessed Maylie the first weekend of February. It was the most perfect day. I was still hormonal and had anxiety because she was only 2 weeks old but most of our family was in town for James return from the Philippines so we planned it and executed it. For my own sanity we had separate family lunches after her blessing to celebrate with family. I wish we could do that with everything. It was perfect to have all of my family over for lunch and get to meet her and love on her and not worry about anyone else besides my family. Then, we went to the farnsie's for the same celebration, and they got to do the exact same thing. Hog her, and us. It turned out perfectly if you ask me. Huston's blessing was so tender. I had many people in sacrament telling me it was the sweetest blessing they had heard in a long time. Although Huston did bless Maylie with the ability to be a big help to her mommy when her siblings arrive, everyone seemed to think that meant we were having ten kids. Haha. Huston and I both bore our testimonies and cried like babies. It was just a spiritual day surrounded by all of our family and I will never forget it.

When Maylie was only 2 days old and we brought her home for the first time, she was fussy ... and we couldnt calm her down. Huston and I layed in our bed and prayed we would be able to fufill all her needs on earth. After prayer Huston whispered to our beautiful Maylie " Its ok, you dont have to be scared, I will teach you all about Him. The Lord. Dont be afraid to forget him, because I will teach you about him. I will never let you forget him. "
I almost died. Right there in that second my heart skipped a beat. I knew I married the best man. Maylie was going to have the best father. Bringing a child into this world is one of the most spiritual things I have ever experienced in my life and I hope I never forget those feelings. They truly are spirits coming directly from heaven.

Behind

I am about 3-4 months behind on this blog.
Going to catch up... I dont know when, but I promise myself I will.
I had the desire to blog yesterday ... then I read Annie's blog and realized how uncreative I am...and that no one will want to read what I have to say anyways..

Then i argued with myself about journaling all day. It doesn't matter, I just need to journal it.

Coming up:

Graduation
Anniversary
Holidays
Valentines
Maylie's Blessing
Jame's Return from the Philippines

Stay tuned ...

Just wanted to share

Here are a few of my favorites from our maternity shoot in Hawaii (we just got them back). Gosh that seems like forever ago. I think I was 30 weeks pregnant. Doesnt seem possible now that I have this precious baby to love on.

This is my favorite one. Now that she is here... I love to see the love we had for her in the womb. it just doesnt compare to real life.

1 Month

Maylie is now 6 weeks old. Im just getting around to her 1 month post.

She has grown so much. Its like I blink and she is bigger.

Here are a few fun facts.

-she is not very tubby but pretty dang LONG. we have a tall one on our hands
-strawberry blonde hair
-extremely well tempered
-obsessed with her daddy. but when mommy comes home she loves mommy.
-hates tummy time
-sleeps through the night (happy about this one.)
-her expressions are hilarious
-she still has amazing death glare looks, however her eyes are softening up
-porks food like she doesnt know when she will eat again
-never cries. literally. we are so blessed
-always content
-starting to be awake more often, but still sleeps through most of her life
-loves stimulation and being outside
-loves to lay down on her play mat
-mommy downloaded white noise app online and baby calms down instantly. she loves it

The child is not shy of attention and she knows it. She loves her grandparents and aunties and uncles.
She is our ALOHA child because she is so mellow. We also tease that she was given to us as such a grumpy butt( her expressions) because she signed on to be sent to Hawaii and somehow landed in Arizona. haha Poor girl.

WE LOVE HER! SOOOO much!!!!!
