umm.. there has been lots of change in our lives lately.
1. Huston's internship started. It wasnt supposed to start unti Sept. 2, however they put him on for Aug. 2nd instead and in a matter of two weeks our plans of saving more money and Huston working until the beginning of next month were no longer in the cards. He put two weeks in and literally started the day his two weeks ended. He first flew to Oregon for orientation, and is now in the valley all over. HE LOVES WHAT HE IS DOING. I am happy to see my husband happy. He comes home and literally wont stop talking about his experiences!
2. I got a job. With a non profit organization called A NEW LEAF. I LOVE IT! I am basically a behavior coach for kiddos who have high needs case managers. Its experience in my field, its evening hours, if official, and professional, I work from home, I can still be a mom, and the pay is actually worth my time. Its wonderful and I thank the Lord everyday for the opportunity he allowed to just fall into my lap. My salary is just keeping us afloat. Luckily we have my parents helpings us out quite a bit by allowing us to eat thier food and live in thier house
3. Maylie is 7 months old. She has 7 teeth and LOVES animals. Shes the happiest easiest going little human ever. We love her
4. in 4 years of marraige, we finally became a 2 car family. We love our car! We got a 2003 Gold Honda Accord. LOVEEE it!

Camping
The weekend before the fourth of July we went camping with Huston's family. No fire, and no firearms (shooting aloud.) but we managed
We had a blast. Camping with a baby was not as hard as i expecting, but my child is kind of the exception to every rule. She's extremely easy going and very pleaseable.
Her favorite part of camping was sitting in long grass and seeing the bugs. I caught her giggling at bugs multiple times. Hilarious. haha
We went fishing alot and relaxed alot and thats about all we did.
For whatever reason food always tastes 1000 times better in the woods!!
Camping rocks. except when your air mattress has a hole the size of a tennis ball. Luckily a small general store was overcharging for them and we needed them so we baught them. I mean really, a general store?? in the middle of no where? with air mattresses? ... dont ask how much we paid.
Memories right???
My child also almost became cat knip. Yep we had mountain lions in camp both nights. Night one they just squealed and we heard them. night two.... they were after my child. Literally.
She snores. it sounds like purring. they thought we had a cat in our tent. they wanted it back. three times my child woke up crying... due to a loud growl outside the tent next to her... each time I thought the growling was just snoring from the other two tents....
the fourth time.. I finally slapped Huston and he woke up. The thing was growling and circling our tent for a good 10 minutes. Ive never been so scared in my life. We prayed multiple times... and finally Huston screamed at it ... and it left.
Pretty easy mistake right???? baby crying sounds like a cat right? and snoring sounds like purring??... hmmmm....

4th of July
We enjoyed the 4th in Lakeside. I love the ol show parade and fireworks. Small town america never gets old.
After the parade the John and Jim Beuhners joined us. It was so fun, they are great families.
We even went for a fun hike to an ice cave!

Things im loving....
Sometimes life catches up with you. Sometimes....
Other times, i find myself ungrateful and get stuck in "comparison." He does this, she does that, she's a better wife than me, that person is a better mom etc... It only brings myself DOWN. DOWN. DOWN. sometimes so down, I get physically sick....
I once saw this photo, and envisioned my best friend growing up telling me this...

I recently learned these thoughts do nothing but put me in a rut. The only way to get out of that rut is to realize the good things. the little things. the things that actually make me most happy that i seem to forget when I get in these detrimental moods.
so today... I am loving....
Our family date to the aquarium and Maylie's first movie theater experience. Shes the best baby.
My sewing machine. Lately ive sewn two carseat tents, burp rags, pacifier clips, hair bows, taggies, .. All things babies since that what everyone is doing right now... makin babies

Maylie's friendly personality. Seriously I can tell I am in trouble. She is going to be that child that has no stranger danger. She is overly friendly and I am not going to lie, I love it. I envision her being THIS little girl from "UP"
When I go in to pick Maylie up in the morning she giggles as soon as she hears my voice or sees my face.
Maylie got this new toy, and you would think it was her BEST friend. She talks to it all day long and LOVES it. I catch her smiling at it ALL the time.
My submissive husband who puts up with me. He is always willing to make me happy, in reason of course ;)
His excitement for his new internship opportunity. I am happy to see him happy about something, and see him feel like he is finally going to do what he wants to do.
Tonight we drove around Gilbert for an hour just laughing and giggling because we had nothing to do, it was too hott, but we wanted to get out of the house.
Volleyball. Ive been playing Thursday nights. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THIS SPORT
Goodwill and Savors on Tuesday. Serious treasures to find!

Ben and Rachel being here from Hawaii. THE BEST EVER. They were our next door neighbors for a year. and now they live down the road. Hard to imagine we ended up in the same place but we did, and its fun.
