House Hunting

So.. Lately... Huston and I have had our hopes set pretty high on moving home and buying a house.
It started out as small talk, and that big word we like to use called "SOMEDAY" until Huston had a conversation with one of his professors who actually does real estate in Arizona. Apparently they were discussing how bad the market is right now, and he mentioned to Huston that if we could save $3,000-$4,000 before we are ready to move back home, he could find us an decent sized home.

WHAT?? that seems crazy to me!  So...this being said.. Huston is now pretty set on saving as much $$ as possible to put towards "said" house.  Great... Thank you professor "real-estate" for making my husbands wallet tighter than it already is. LoL

We have been having fun looking online and finding homes.. ..nothing serious because of course we cant buy right now.. but a girl can dream right? We are just talking about it and weighing out all the options because the first home we buy we would like for it to be OUR home for a VERY long time. We are not the moving around type of people, unless cicumstances call for it, such as packing and leaving to Hawaii.

Get this, we have looked at multiple homes. 4+ bedrooms with 2 whole  bathrooms and they are cheaper than what we are paying a month to live on our shoe box???  I dont think either of us found that to be too amusing, but we look forward to the day we can actually look to buy for reals.

I hate to say it.. but SOMEDAY!!

White Glove Check

Our house is clean!!!! The shoe box is clean, and when i say clean, i mean REALLY clean.

Behind the stove and fridge swept out, all the baseboards wiped down, ant proofed everything, re-organized pantry and cupboards, re-arranged our room, got rid of a bunch of stuff, tupperware all has matching lids, deep scrubbed the bathtub, the window panels wiped down and the screens sprayed off, the light fixtures wiped out, dusted, mopped, ... anything you can think of... we did it!

It needed it!!!! I  feel so much better having a de-cluttered home and a clean one at that. My mother may or may no have rubbed off on me that way.

Ps. I helped do the cupboards and bathroom - other than that i think my main squeeze Huston needs a huge shout out because while i was in class yesterday morning he finished the ENTIRE shoe box so that we could enjoy our friday night. What a man!!!

Its amazing! I even have a clean white wall to decorate and im so excited to put Pinterest to good use! Im pretty sure Huston knew i was getting an itch to craft so he did it just for me!...Thank you Husband, your truly THE best.

Bucket List

(Good movie)

Well a while back a friend of mine posted a bucket list on her blog. I found that to be really cool. We have one of our own. Of course we have a "Hawaiian" bucket list of things we would like to do before leaving the rock and a "Real Life" bucket list.

Hawaiian Bucket List
1. Skinny Dip in the ocean
2. Helicopter tour
3. Swim with dolphins
4. Island hop (3 main islands, and possible little islands)
5. Graduate College (debt free)
6. Shark encounter
7. Scuba dive
8. Deep sea fishing
9. Sky Dive
10. Hang glide
11. Have a child so they can say they were born in Hawaii
12. Whale watching

(there are probably a few i am forgetting)

Real Life bucket list (before we die)
1. A trip back to Germany is in order
2. Become homeowners
3. Learn to dance and compete in a dance competition (ballroom/hip hop)
4. Be skinny and eat whatever we want
5. Go on a Cruise (Alaskin, Bahama's)
6. Attend Culinary School together and appear on a cooking channel show ( we love the food channel)
7. Restore an old vehicle together
8.  Own a "Bumble Bee" from Transformers
9. Serve a Mission together
10. attend graduate school
11. Bungee Jump
12. Travel to at least 10 different countries outside of europe
13. get involved in Humanitarian projects
14.  (Huston) would like to set up some kind of scholarship at BYU-H for students

I think this is a pretty good list for now. I tried to only post the fun ones.. because i have to remind myself  " the best things in life just aren't things"
However, hopefully we will be able to accomplish most of these if we play our cards right!

No Heat Curls

While Pinteresting.... yep.. that will probably not be the LAST time you see the word on my blog...

I found this cool tutorial for "No heat curls"  and you dont even have to sleep in uncomfortable curlers. As much as i loved those things as a kid.

She is a little boring, but hang in there.

My hair is so dang straight and fine that i thought, ya right. There is no way my hair would do that.
But let me tell you, It works. I tried it last night.

I made two mistakes though. 1. I used a looser headband so my curls were not as tight and it didnt stay in my head very good. 2. I did this when my hair was wet. I think it all would have worked out better if I did it with dry hair, and a tighter headband.

I like the curls. It gives my hair a more natural wavey look. I hope to try this a few more times. Its so easy. What a cool trick.

Family Home Evening

Last week we sort of had a rough week. Its what i like to call "a bad week to be married." We just were not gettin along very well, which im sure happens in all of our lives, but probably not in blog world. In blog world all of our lives are perfect right? It was nothing too big, or anything, just difference in opinions all week long it felt like, and probably one of the first times this has happened to us, and no it was not PMS.

Anyways... instead of watching TV before bedtime on Sunday night we layed in bed and talked about EVERYTHING that happened throughout the week. More so me than him, because for some reason boys can just let things go easier. We call this "Relationship Inventory" and its the best thing that anybody can do for thier relationships. Its the time for both of you to be humble and let out your feelings and tell each other what to work on to be a better spouse for the other. We were also both pretty tired, so we decided to go to sleep and finish our "Relationship I nventory" Monday night for FHE.

We actually had the best time on Monday evening. After my last class we helped each other clean the "shoe box" and then we went to play raquetball together. Huston loves raquetball, and I do too, but i just lose attention span way too easy and dont want to play for very long.  After some friendly competition, we drove out to where we are house sitting and played some Kinect Sports, followed by eating a healthy salad with leftover grill chicken in it(YUM) and then visiting our good friend who just had a baby. It has been a while since we have given each other that much undivided attention i think, and it was just what we needed. We alotted some time for STUPID homework, and then had a little lesson together and continued our "relationship inventory."

What is comes down to is ..."The best things in life, just arent things!" We were able to have a simple yet amazing evening together and we both feel tons better. Im glad we are back on track! :)  Sometimes, thats all it takes is letting it all out, and then spending some good time together.

Im so grateful to be married to a man that is always happy. His smile radiates and is very contagious. I knew i married him for a reason, and that was because i knew i would be one happy girl. He makes me so happy, and there aint nothin wrong with that. We are perfect for each other. If you asked me 5 years ago (yep its been that long since we met) if i was going to marry him, I probably still would have told you yes.....I have known for a long time that I was supposed to be with this man, and I thank God every day for Huston because he is the greatest blessing.

Now everything can be perfect in the blog world again! Yay, just letting everyone know we are still human.

Oh, and no we dont just have FHE when life is hard(haha) we are actually pretty consistent at it. Its an excuse for me to cook and for us to have something fun to do on a weeknight.

Adventure

So.. Date night lately(as in the past 4 weekends) has consisted of dinner and renting a movie. Which is sometimes really nice to just relax!

However this weekend.. we were ready for something different and decided to change things up a bit. We started Friday evening with a little night swim at Turtle Bay(almost got kicked out) and then we had late night pancakes as a snack, and watched an old movie( not by choice) lol

Then... Saturday, Living Social was having a great deal- so we jumped on it with our friends
Banana Boat Rides!! Yahoo. It was a blast, and really nice to get out of Laie for the day.

I cant decide what i didn't like more, falling off the banana or getting back on it!??That was an art all in itself was getting Kilie back on the boat. Poor Alysha probably got a pretty good arm work-out trying to get me back up all the time. haha. At first i was really nervous, then after the first fall, it was a blast!

Somehow, Nick and Alysha were able to stay on the boat way more than Huston and I, we always went flying off, but it made it more fun.

After our adventure was over, we saw a movie that was terrible. I wont say which one because we almost left it was so bad. Then we tried a burger joint that was great!! Its called Teddy's Burgers. It was a fun little diner.

The drive home on Saturday was smooth, Alysha is getting pretty dang good and driving her little standard vehicle. (thought i would give her a little shout out on the blog)

Santa Clause

Last week- I had to write and essay/memory about a "dis-illusionment" which means- a lie that you believed, or something that turned out not to be what you were expecting.

Can you guess what i wrote about?

Ya, confession- I Kilie Jaccy Rainey Farnsworth actually believed in Santa Clause until i was almost 13 years old.

Talk about dis-illusionment. It never occurred to me that my own parents would lie to me.

They put a lot of effort into those lies- how was i even supposed to be curious? I loved Santa Clause and the idea of him.

Anyways, we had to read the essay out loud to a group, and much to my surprise my group laughed at me. .....Hello- thats not funny. I was a heartbroken child. Thirteen years old?? Thats a lot invested in one "idea" of a Merry Man who delivers presents on Christmas Eve.

Oh well at least maybe ill get a good grade on my essay if my teacher is amused right?
