Recovery...

I dont think i have fully recovered from my wonderful vacation yet.

I flew in Tuesday night and Wed. morning i had 2 finals. Aced both of them thank you very much. However, once school was OVER  I clocked out for the day. I spent the rest of that day resting in my bed. haha Although i still dont recommend leaving town in the middle of finals week. haha

Thursday I had to work, and after I got home i did the same thing. RESTED

Friday- We both had no school, or work and we were supposed to go to the beach and enjoy the sun, only the sun decided never to show up for our date. Therefore, it RAINED all day long, and we spent the day having a movie/nap marathon together. Sometimes, these are my favorite kind of days. Endless time being spent with my husband

Today- I finally feel "recovered" only now i am trying to tackle the feeling of "homesickness"
I think more or less it is also having to deal with change. As of right now, we do not have neighbors. Abe and Laurie and my local boyfriend "Pati"(He is 2 years old and the most handsome funny little guy) left us, and are on to bigger and better things in life just like the Erb's (Ben and Rachel) are too. It is kind of depressing. I guess i knew this day would come, I mean no one lives in TVA forever.
Plus half of our ward is gone. Usually, its not really a big deal, however the people that left are mostly people who were here when we first got to island. Therefore, that sense of familiarity in our ward is going to be gone. We are excited to get to know all the new families, i just dont deal with change all that well.

Someday.. It will be me/US leaving the island! haha

Island Greeting

Aloha,

I am back on the island (aka. the rock). The positive thing about this, is that i have a husband again. However, i cant help but think how much i loved staying up watching movies with my sister and brother, and being able to spend time with my family. I miss them already.

I was greeted at the airport with a very HOT pink fresh plumeria lei from my husband and his new found skill of lei making. It is beautiful. :) I also found the cute pink yoga pants that i had been wanting.. in the car. What a sweet boy i have?? .. I missed him A LOT!

(The Lei was made out of these vibrant beauties)

Having been back on the "rock" for about 15 hours, i have already taken 2 finals, written two papers, finished all my class work for this term, and taken a very much needed NAP. Not to mention is raining pretty hard. Looks like the island missed me, NOT! Today will be the stay inside and do nothing and recover from vacation kind of day. :)

I think thats Hawaii's way of saying .. WELCOME BACK!

Mahalo

new aspirations...

** Cliche and MORMON thing to do, i know. But hey, i really would like to try these things to become a little more domesticated, and be a better wife. :) ..do not judge me! **

1. Couponing- I am going to start practicing this now! .. nothing extreme but, to save us some money until i can spend sometime with my cousin and have the time to do what she does (coupon binder, all sorted, and tons of them)

2. Food storage- someday when I have a house, i will A. have a huge pantry that looks like the above food storage, or B. have a garage full of food storage. I just think it is such a utility and can save a family SO much money a month.

3. Canning- I have always wanted to learn to do this on my own. I used to can Jam with my aunt, and salsa with my in laws, but i would love to learn to do it on my own with my own produce.

4. Gardening- we have already experienced gardening and LOVED it, it did save us some money and still does sometimes. I just wish we were better at it, we sort of abandoned our garden, and we would like to re-start it again

I cant wait to implement these very useful skills in my life when i have the time and space. It is a goal that i have to attempt. I think it can save us a lot of money.  and not to mention,  it is just smart, if you really think about it. All it takes is a little bit of time.

Summer School

Spring Term ended well.

I am loving the "terms" better than actual semesters. I mean I get full credit for only 6 weeks worth of class. Isnt that great? Anyways, Spring Term ended and Summer Term starts monday. This past term i took 2 business classes, 1 exercise class, Science, and Social Work. I loved my Social Work class. It made me realize that this is exactly what i want to do with my life.

Summer Term will consist of Book of Mormon Part 2, another Business class(online), and Psychology. It will suprisingly keep me pretty busy. Thankfully its only 6 weeks long until First Term begins(July)

Gotta love summer school... but hey, if it means i will get off this rock that much sooner, then why not???

At the end of Summer I have have accumulated around 27-30 more credits and all over the course of 3 months. Now you understand why summer school rocks????

Home Sweet Home

My trip home was FanTASTIC!! Big Thanks to my MOM and DAD for sending me home! It was much needed, and i enjoyed every second!!

I loved every second of it. I was able to eat at most all my favorite places, spend time with ALL of my family, watch my little brother graduate from High School, visit friends, have sleepovers with my sister and other friends, attend an old friend's baby shower, get my toes done with my mom and sister, visit lakeside(cousins), i was even able to drive my own car (thanks dad), and eat New York steaks.

Unfortunately i didnt take very many pictures, i was too busy soaking up all the familiar people and places.

Gahh... It was so nice to be able to be there, at that place i now refer to as "the mainland."

Call me a little homesick, because i am. As much as i was ready to come home and have a husband again.. I truly do miss Arizona.

I cant wait until we are friends with everyone we grew up with again and can live close to them, and can be around family, and take camping trips, and enjoy ARIZONA, that place we always called home.

Mainland vs. Island

 V/s.

Just a little Compare/Contrast list that i thought about while in the HOME town.

Mainland:

-Getting ready again is great. My hair stays straight, and i can keep it down for more than 3 seconds
-I can put make-up on and it stays on
-Welcome dry-skin again
-Allergies ( no fun!) haven't had those in over a year
- LOVE the road's on a GRID
-IT IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE HOME (familiar ground)
-cheap milk, and produce, along with many other things that are CHEAP
-shopping within about 5 minutes of anywhere
-busy lifestyle, (everything is fast)
-everything is BROWN ..pretty Ugly
-Bi-polar weather (havent had to deal with that either)
-Family lives HERE!
-Hundred degree summers

Island:

-Beach
-Lovely weather YEAR ROUND- yes ALL YEAR LONG
-currently we pay $4.80 for a gallon of MILK
-no family
-Beautiful GREEN scenery
-Beach Camp fires (weekend remedy)
-unique place to live (including our married housing apartments)
-Ocean activities
-Aloha spirit actually exists (slow, laid back) atmosphere
-great education oppurtunities
-rice with every meal

** So what if my mainland list is longer...haha

-The last few posts make it sound like i hate living on the "ROCK"..I will clarify that. I dont! I will miss it when we have to leave for sure, but until then, i really miss HOME-

I miss my HUSBAND...

First time away from the husband was not so bad the first two days...we were both busy...I mean it was weird, but just not terribly so,.. come day 3 and day 4.. nights got harder and harder, and well i just miss him. We talked on the phone last night for almost two hours.  He is just my best friend. I do not like being away from him! I am a little too dependent possibly, but its kind of cool because i just value our relationship/friendship that much more. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder.  Its weird, however, Im really grateful i was able to come home and see my family. They pretty much rock too.

I am pretty excited to see my husband's smile again, and cuddle with him. Cheesy I know.
