Because Alysha said so...

Alysha has been bugging me to blog about it.. haha (Love that Girl)

A while back.. Huston and Nick were craving cinnamon rolls. So Alysha and I, being good wives...decided to make them for the boys. Actually, truly, everyone helped a little. Huston was in charge of making sure the dough turned out right, Nick helped rub sugar and cinnamon in the filling with Alysha, and I did the frosting while Alysha so tediously measured and cut each roll so they were the same. It was a pretty fun date night! :) Team work goes a long ways. Especially since the boys were anxious and didnt want to wait that long for dessert to be ready.

Ok guys, not to brag or anything but these were the best cinnamon rolls i have ever had. The dough turned out sooo awesome and soft and perfect. It was not too tough, or too runny, or too thick. So if you ever want to make a good cinnamon roll, you should use this recipe.

Cinnamon Rolls

2 1/2 Tbs. Yeast

1 c. Warm milk > Dissolve yeast in warm milk

*Then add

1/2 c. Sugar
1/3 cup Butter (melted)
1 tsp Salt
2 Eggs
4 c. Flour (add one at a time until dough starts to form a ball, then place on floured surface and knead while adding remaining flour)

*Let rise 30-45 minutes or until double bulk. Roll out on floured surface into a 22''x15" rectangle, about 1/4'' thick, then add filling.

Filling:

1/3 c. Softened Butter
2 c. Brown Sugar
3 Tbs. Cinnamon

*Spread butter evenly over entire rectangle leaving 1/2" at one end. Cover butter surface with brown sugar, then sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll dough from sugared end to non sugared end. Cut 1" to 1 1/2 thick with serrated knife. (or you could use dental floss, thats what we did) Place on pre-greased baking pan. (pan with edges instead of a cookie sheet to hold them together.) Let rise for 15-20 minutes. Preheat to 400 degrees while rising. Bake for 15-20 mins until light brown. Do not over bake or they will be hard and dry. Remove from oven and frost immediately.

Cream Cheese Frosting:

14 Tbs Softened Butter
2 1/2 c. Powdered Sugar
1/2 c. Softened Cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp Salt

I hope you enjoy it!
